The GearMotive ZF Sequential Dogbox transmission is based on their well-known H-pattern Dogbox gearset. Their sequential transmission uses same type of gears and shafts, which have proven to work on various racing classes and being very famous product especially in Rally, Circuit and Drifting. The gearset is proven to work on over 1100Nm applications in Drifting and Drag racing.

Same Great Gearsets, now sequential!

Now the famous Gearmotive gearset is combined with a Sequential shifting mechanisms and housing providing even faster and more flawless gear changes.

A BMW ZF bell housing is mated with our custom manufactured rear housing, which measures to same dimensions as a ZF stock rear housing.

GearMotive ZF Sequential can be bolt-on to replace original BMW ZF S5D transmission. If you run the Gearmotive output flange adaptor, the box will measure the same as a GS5-39DZ making it a direct swap in that application.

Gearset 1 - Rally/Circuit/Hillclimb

  • Long 1st gear, smaller drop between gears
  • Gear ratios 1-5: 2.23, 1.71, 1.38, 1.16, 1.00

Gearset 2 Drift/Drag/Rallycross

  • Longish 1st gear, bigger drop between gears
  • Gear ratios 1-5: 2.73, 1.83, 1.42, 1.16, 1.00

GearMotive Bell-Housing

The ZF Sequential requires ZF S5D model bell housing to fit it into the engine.

The ZF Sequential is designed so the bell housing is part of the gearset and oil space.

This has allowed for the gearbox to be super small and is a bolt on to replace S5D stock box or existing GearMotive ZF dogboxes.

You can purchase a GearMotive bellhousing or send your own bellhousing to them for assembly.

The shifter has integrated shifcut sensors, providing an option to use flat shifting as standard.

Gearmotive Shift Display Kit

The display shows the current gear position, and offers configuring options for gear position and shift cut adjusting

ECM is a control box combining the functions of display and shifter.
ECM can be also wired into the after market ECU for gear display or shift cut functionality

Prop Shaft Adaptor

The Gearmotive Prop Adaptor takes the output flange to your desired PCD.

Without the flange adaptor the gearbox is the same size as S5D petrol box, with the adaptor its the same size as the GS5-39DZ Diesel gearbox.

CDMSport have a range of upgraded Donuts to suit high horsepower applications.

The output flange as standard has a 78mm PCD. The adaptor is available to go to 78mm, 96mm, 105mm, 110mm.
